Ubuntu 15.10 Beta 1 is Now Available for Download With New Features
Short Bytes: The Ubuntu 15.10 Beta 1 (Wily Werewolf) is available for download. This is the very first release in the Ubuntu 15.10 development cycle.
However, the regular version of Ubuntu will be issuing its first, and only, beta release next month. Let’s take a look at the new features in Ubuntu 15.10 Beta 1.
New features in Ubuntu 15.10 Beta 1:
Let’s take a look at the changes that will come to different members of the Ubuntu family-
Kubuntu 15.10 Beta 1: This flavour is greeted with the biggest changes and it brings the new shiny Plasma 5.4 desktop as default. It also embraces the latest KDE Applications 15.08 suite.
Ubuntu GNOME 15.10 Beta 1: It comes with the most of the GNOME 3.16 features. You get to experience GNOME-Shell 3.16, multiple GNOME 3.16 applications and the new GNOME Photos.
Lubuntu 15.10 Beta 1: You can see few bug fixes in this release and it’s focussed on the new LxQt desktop’s shipping in time i.e. in October 2016.
Xubuntu 15.10 Beta 1: It brings Abiword and updates the default Xubuntu app stack comprising of newer gMusicBrowser, nimble Thunar file manager, and LightDM-GTK-Greeter.
Ubuntu MATE 15.10 Beta 1: It brings a new MATE welcome tool and graduates the MATE desktop version to 1.10. Beta 1 also brings along updated MATE Tweak Tool and provides Deja Dup backup facility into the Caja file manager.

As we already know, beta releases come with lots of bugs and it isn’t recommended to use it as your default OS. The final Ubuntu 15.10 comes on October 22, 215. Save the date.
